Ingrid Betancourt

The other day Fede and I were walking around the sixth and through the center of Paris (photos here), and we came across this demonstration for Ingrid Betancourt at the Hotel de Ville:

She is apparently a Columbian politician/activist of French descent being held hostage by the FARC. Because she is a French citizen, her story has been getting a lot of coverage in France. Her daughter has been advocating for her release, they wrote a book about her, and there is a big poster with a tally of the number of days she's been imprisoned (2153 days and counting, which is almost exactly 6 years) hanging outside the Hotel de Ville. I don't know much about the story but if I learn some more about it, I'll update this post.
